Last night a very pleasant gathering took place at the Auckland Commercial Travellers' Clubrooms, for the purpose of presenting a very handsome silver hotwater kettle to Mr. H. Hodgson, who is leaving the road to enter business on his own account at Palmerston North. Mr. C. J. Phillips was in the chair, and on behalf of the travellers made the presentation, and expressed regret at Mr. Hodgson's departure from Auckland. Mr. W. Forbes, on behalf of the Billiard Committee, presented Mr. H. Hodgson with a very handsome silver cup donated to the club by llr. F. F. Jackson, and won by Mr. Hodgson in the snooker tournament. Mr. Hodgson leaves for v Palmerston iiorth by; to-night's express.,
