MAORI KORERO AT WAAHI.
(3y Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HUXTLY, Thursday. The Hon. Muhuta arrived in Huntly by last night's train, and proceeded to Waahi, to make preparations for Mr. H. Kaihau's reception. On his arrival by this forenoon's express, Mr. Kaihau was taken over to the settlement by launch, where he addressed the assembled natives in the large meeting-house, the weather conditions being extremely unfavourable for open-air speaking. Mr. Kaihau's speech consisted mainly of a resume of tho work accomplished at tho large meeting held last year. He urged the carrying out of the scheme then agreed upon.
It is understood by the natives that an adjournment of the meeting will take place owing to the inability of the Acting-Prime Minister and the Hon. Kgata to be present tintil probably the end of June or first week in July.
