MARY ANDERSON (DRAMATIST). in collaboration with Mr. Robert Hichens, Miss Mary Anderson (Mac. de Navarre), said to be one of the most beautiful actresses ever seen on the English stagef and certainly one of the best beloved, has written a five-act play founded on Air. Hichen's story, 'The Garden of Allah." Mr. Tyler, the American manager, has secured the acting- rights for both England and the United iStates. The story is of a priest, who leaves a monastery, goes out into the world and marries. Eventually his wife learns that the man she married is a. priest, and, although she loves him, she sends him back for ever to the monastery whence he had come. It is believed that Mr. Forbes Robertson may be interested in this play, and appear in it in England. THE QUEEN AND CITY WORKERS. The Queen has shown her continued interest in the work among girls and women in All Hallows' Church, London Wall, by sending a cheque to Mrs. Montague Fowler, the wife of the rector, to be used in aid of the work. All Hallows' Church is open every morning from 6 to 9 o'clock, in order that women and girls who travel by work- j men's trains from the suburbs may have j a place where they can pass the time !
