RE-OPENING OF PITT-STREET METHODIST CHURCH.
It is with great expectation that the Methodists of Auckland look forward to ; the re-opening of- Pitt-street Methodist Church. Around this sacred edifice cluster very blessed memories and hallowed , associations of long standing. This -1 church may well he regarded as the West- • minster Abbey of Methodism in this Doi I minion. Its walls are adorned with many . | brass tablets sacred to the memory of the i j pioneer missionaries and leading minis- : ters of the Church, and now, in addition , to the tablets, six beautiful memorial win- . dows have been put in for the glory of . I God and to tiie beloved memory of MessTS. .Richard Arthur. Joseph Craig. John Hosi king, J. L. Wilson, W. K. Wilson, and i - George Garratt. On Friday afternoon next, when the . church will he re-oper.ed. it is fully antici- . I pated to see many of the original members -, and friends of the church moving towards this attractive Mecca of Methodism, when . six artistic memorial windows will be unveiled, and the magnificent organ will I be officially opened by Mrs. G. Winstone. i The Ilev. W. Sinclair will deliver an adi dress appropriate to the occasion, and , I the Rev. W. Ready will preside. After the meeting an old-time tea meeting will be held in the schoolroom, which will afford an opportunity for the old members to renew their friendships. In the evening a bright public meeting will be held in the church. Special singing by choir; addresses by Revs. A. C. Lawrv, W. A. Hay. and W. Ready. Chair to be taken hy Mr. James Buttle. f ■
