PROSPECTS IN THE SENATE. NEW YORK. June 7. President Taft has appealed to Democratic Senators to reject Senator Root's amendment to the printing paper clause 'in thp Reciprocity Bill. It is now believed that the Democratic j Senators do not intend to combine reciI procity with the Free List Bill, as originally tbo:;_ht probable. ! The. "C.":ieago Trihunc's" poll of the 'editors of 22 States shows that public sentiment largely favours reciprocity.
