The Auckland Cremation Society asked the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yr-sterday if it would entertain an offei to find one third of the cost of a crema torium to bo built at the hospital foi the use of the Board and the genera public. The crematorium could be buil near the main chimney stack. It was un necessary (the applicants said) to en lnrge upon the necessity for a publi crematorium. The proposal was declinei without remark. Yes, most decidedly, we favour skatam as a recreation for ladies, provided, o course, that they always wear Warner' easy fitting Rustproof Corsets to insure freedom of movement with figure etc gance.—(Ad.)
