As stated in yesterday's issue, the fire on the Union Co.'s steamer Haupiri was not a serious one. The affected cargo in No. 2 hold was discharged and placed in the shed on Queen-street wharf for examination. It amounted to a few tons only, &nd was not affected by fire, having been damaged by smoke and water. The vessel herself suffered no damage, and was able to resume her voyage for East Coast ports and Wellington last night. The sixth of the series of addressee to Sunday school teachers, was given last night at the Pitt-street centre by the lecturer, Mr. H. A. E. Milnes, B.S.C, principal of the Auckland Training College. Mr. G. Winstone presided over a good gathering, representative of the following Sunday schools: Bensfordstreet Congregational, Piit-etreet PrimitiveMerthodist r Ed.eji-terraee Primitive Methodist, and Wakefield-etreet Friends. The new organ which has been erected in the Pitt-street Methodist Church is now completed, and Mr. Harold Gregson, the well-known concert organist, has been engaged to give a series of recitals on the new instrument. The first of the series takes place on Monday evening, June 12. At this recital Mr. Gregson makes his first appearance in this city as a recitalist since his performances at the Japan-Bri-tish Exhibition, London, and the Crystal Palace last year.
