In connection trith an. application for the renewal of the license of the Ettbam Hotel, at a.meeting of the JSgmont licensing Committee to-day,-the police objected on the ground that the man employed as the manager used obscene language, and iad been convicted of that offence. The committee adjourned the application for. a. fortnight-so that the Kcensee (a -widow) may get rid of the manager, or show that lie-is a proper person to be in. the hotel. The committee -were opposed to any person who used had language- being in charge of "an. hotel. FOUND DROWNED. , ' NEWEIX&OHT&, -^hisrday. The body of .George Godfrey Boutton, an:elderly man, carrying on business as a grocer and tobacconist, -was found in the Henui Brrer, near flic 'cemetery, this morning.
