WEIiUNGTON, this day. An Order-in-Couiieil will be published this week protecting Ftelorus Jack for a, further term of three years. A penalty of not leas than £5 or more than £fOO is fixed for infringement of the order.
HOKITIKA, Tuesday. At meeting of the newlyelected Harbour Board, Mr. H. L. Michel was elected chairman. A poll was taken to-day in connection with a loan of £25,000 for harbour improvements, the proposal being carried by 533 votes to 74.
