MISS AMY CASTLES.

FIRST CONCERT TO-NIGHT.

Misa 'Amy Castles, "Australia's famous Queen of Song," makes her first appearance in Auckland at the Choral Hall to-night, on her farewell tour of New Zealand prior to her departure for London, where she is engaged to appear in grand opera. This evening Messrs. J. and N. Tait will introduce Miss Castles in the role in which she lias won great fame, both in England and on the Continent, whilst in Australia her concert tour, interrupted as it was 'by her advent into grand opera, was one long recurrence of triumphs, which places her in the front rank of the many great singers who 'have visited Australia. 'Miss Castles •will sing this evening Verdi's "A Fors c lvi," from "La Traviata," Tosti's "Good-bye," and Verdi's "Saper Vorrestc," and by special request she will sing "One Fine Day," from "Madame Butterfly." In addition, by request, Miss Oastles will sing Braga's "Serenata," with 'cello obligate by Mr. Louis Hattenbach, and "Home, Sweet Home."

Messrs. J. and 3f. Tait introduce a fine company iv support of Miss Castles. Herr Alexander fcamphausen, the Leipzig baritone, from the grand opeTa of Berlin and Dresden, will render, by request, "The Prologue from Paghacci" and the Toreador song from "Carmen." Herr Hattenbach, the famous 'cellist, in addition to the obligate accompaniments to Miss Castles, will play Popper's "Rhapsodic Hongroise" and the dainty solos in "Melodic" and "Souvenir." JMr. William Con way, who, with the other artists, makes his first appearance, will render Beethoven's Sonata in C sharp minor, Op. 2, No. 2, and Chopin's pojtilar composition, "Ballade in A flat." A large booking has been received at Messrs. Wildman and Arey's, and also Martelli's, wheTe 3/tickets are now available. Despite the inclemency of the weather, a good attendance is assured, and the public should notice that trams from ill suburbs run to the- ball, both before and after the concert. 'Miss Castle c will sing at Cambridge to-morrow evening, at Auckland on Wednesday evening, and at Botorua on Friday next.
