ri. The u membeTß ot tne Auckland Flying Clnb held their Derby, the anal racp of the season, from Taumarunul, on Saturday distance 140 miles airline. The birds were liberated at 11 a.m. by the stationmaster, and the birds had a trying Bj home the winner arriving at a .quarter past three Mr. A. Hill succeeded in performing the eeneational performance of winning every young bird race on the programme, and wins Mr. Myers' (M.P.) gold medal. The result was as follows:—Mr. A. Hill's Ted cheq cock, Sir Wormald, Ist, velocity 979 yds: a minute; Mr. C. Simpson's be cheq. hen, Blue Vale, 2nd, 976 yds; Mr A Bines' mealy cock, Pilot, 3rd, jJeSyds , Mr H. Stowell's be cheq. hen, Abomah, 4th' 964 yds; Mr. H. Thornton's blue hen Pixie' sth 961 yds; Mr. T. Ingliss' bl eh hen West End. eth, 957 yds. Eighty-eight birds competed.
