GORDON RIFLES. The third competition for Jones Brothers' trophy was fired on Saturday, ranges being 000 yds and 600 yds, seven uhote and a elghter at each, range. The following are the scores:— Tl. (Private Oxenham (handicap 2), 33 at SOOyds and '29 at 600 yds 64 •Private Watson (4), 32 and 27 G3 53ergeant Mcßeath (1), 33 and 28 62 Corporal Martin (4), 30 and 26 60 Sergeant Reid (5), 26 and 24 05 Private Moore (20), 27 and 7 54 Private Duncumbe (10), 19 and 13 42 No. 1 NATIVE RIFLES. CHAMPIONSHIP "881/ T. B Company No. 1 'Natives fired the final competition for the Coutts championship belt and gold medal on Saturday, the result being a very close finish between Private A. G. Devore and Sergeant C. Smith, the former .winning by two. points. The totals of the leading competitors for the four competitions are as follows:—Private A. G. Devore, 253 points; Sergeant C. Smith, 251; Corporal A. Purchas (last year's winner), 248 points. The final shoot proved the best in the competition, the scores being very close to the possible 70 points, Corporal 'Purchas getting 09 points with a possible at 600 yds, for making which he receives a eolid silver teaspoon, the second this season, lie having made a possible at 200 yds in a previous match. He also receives another spoon if or the highest score In the final shoot for the belt. Sergeant C. Smith also receives two teaspoons, he being the highest scorer in the third and fourth belt competitions. Corporal A. Coulam wins the B class trophy Trith the score of 209 points for four matches.
