Notice* is hereby given that the Body Corporate, the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Birkenhead propose to raise a Special Loan of Twenty-flve Thousand Pounds (£25,000) under the New Zealand State Guaranteed Advances Act, 1909. for the following Public Works, , ila.:— To provide &. Water Supply tor the Borough, having Lake Takapuna as Its source, laying the pipes from.thence to the Borough, via Takapuna and. Birkenhead Ridings of the Waltemat'a County, with the necessary reticulating pines throughout the Borough; the purchase <S'a Pumping Site and Reservoir Site, and eIU incidental matters connected with the Water Supply, according to the plans and specifications marked "A" prepared by H. H. Metcalfe, Engineer to the Borough; the cost of such water supply being. estimated at Twentyone Thousand Two Hundred and Thirty Pounds (£21,230). The proposed security for the paymeat of such Loan shall be a Special Rate of One Shilling and Flvepence Halfpenny in the £ on the annual value of all ratable property In the Borough, such rate to provide for interest and einklng. fund in connection with the Loan, and to be an nnm|g| recurring rate during the currency of the Loan. It is proposed to pay oat of the Loan the cost of raising the loan, and the interest for the first year.
