News has now been received from Stratford that a terrific storm occurred over an area of only four miles at Puniwhakau. eon Thursday. It wrecked the road, and did great damage, hailstones as large as hens' eggs fell, and fences and telegraph poles were torn up in all directions. The river Mangaehu rose twenty feet.
