SOUTHERN NEWS.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) A SERIOUS ASSAULT. WELLINGTON, this day. A young man named Matthew Cooper was. charged at the Police Court to-day with having assaulted his wife. The alleged assault is said to have been the result of domestic difference. Mrs. Cooper was conveyed to the hospital, and her depositions -were taken early this morning. Accused was remanded till the 12th December.
