Last evening a memorial service to the late John RosSer was held at Trinity Methodist Church, Kingsland. The Rev. A. N. Scdtter preached to a crowded congregation from the text: "Let mc die the death of the righteous." " Crossing the Bar" was sung by Mrs. Rogers, and "For Ever with the Lord" by Mr. W. Rutledgej also a special anthem by the choir. The late Mr. Rosser was admired for his sturdy Christian courage and devotion to duty. He rendered many years of valuable service as a local preacher, and also as a class leader, and had he lived a few weeks longer, it was the intention of his Kingsland friends to honour his 80th birthday with an "At Home." The influence of a consistent life will long be I retiiehibefed by .111 those who had the pleasure of knowing the late Mr. John : Rosser, and who was laid to rest in the [village churchyard at Awhitu.
