A MISSING BANKRUPT.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Tuesday. ' A meeting of the creditors in the estate of Wm. Miller, a money-lender, who disappeared last October, and who was subsequently declared a bankrupt, was held to-day, and attended by about 25 creditors. The statement in regard to the bankrupt's estate showed the assets to be approximately £1280 9/4. and the liabilities £4207 11/. The amount in the assignee's hands was • £165-18/1. The assignee reported that the task of trying to unravel Miller's business transactions was most difficult. Miller had been seen on a steamer sailing north from Lyttelton, on October 5, - but not since. The bankrupt had collected all the money he possibly could, and lie had been at it day and night. After discussion it, was decided to spend a sum not exceeding. £60 in inquiring as to the bankrupt's whereabouts. In referring to the estate the assignee said there were 27 • houses, the rents ranging from 15/ or 16/ a week down to 2/. ....'-. The Agricultural District of Albany is to have a showground! The Magistrate ordered defendant to pay costs incidental"'to the birth, J amounting to £4 11/-, and 12/- a week towards the ■maintenance of the children.
