THE TARIFF.
(Received 9.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. In the Hou?e of Representatives Mr. Tudor moved the second reading of the Customs Amending Bill. He explained that it wras intended to give the Commonwealth power to prevent the export of goods in order that the standard of Australia's trade may be maintained, and also power to deal with smugglers. The discussion was adjourned. The Tariff Anomalies Bill passed all stages.
