At a, meeting of the New Zealand Boxing Council correspondence was received from the Wellington Association objecting to a declaration from the Council that certain matters agreed to at the Palmerston North conference had become lam. The "Wellington Association's objection was based ou a rule which provides that alterations to the rules must he made by a mail vote. The Council decided to submit several matters mentioned to the affiliated bodies for a mail vote. Permission was granted to the Millerton Association to arrange a match between Mitchell and Rudd for the heavy-weight professional championship, and to the Northern Association to arrange a match between Halley and Tracy for the welter-weight championship. A statement was received from B- Ellis, of Wellington, who had been selected to represent New Zealand in the Australian bantam championship, and who was 131bs. overweight on the day before the competition.- The Council considered his statement most unsatisfactory, and decided to forward its view to the Wellington Association and the Northern Association, the latter body having brought the matter before the Council.
