During the last few years quite a large number of new varieties of rose 3 have been introduced in Auckland, and this season the weather seems to have fay- ( tmred the queen of flowers, for the dis- ! plays in the gardens.are very fine. Under such circumstances the annual rose show, to be held under the, auspices of the Auckland Hor- c ticultural Society next Friday and I Saturday, should prove a great success, more especially as there will also be big i displays of the popular sweet pea, as well as the earlier carnations. Already it is certain there will be over 2000 exhibits.
