During the last few years quite a large number of new varieties of rose 3 have been introduced in Auckland, and this season the weather seems to have fay- ( tmred the queen of flowers, for the dis- ! plays in the gardens.are very fine. Under such circumstances the annual rose show, to be held under the, auspices of the Auckland Hor- c ticultural Society next Friday and I Saturday, should prove a great success, more especially as there will also be big i displays of the popular sweet pea, as well as the earlier carnations. Already it is certain there will be over 2000 exhibits. Added interest to this show is due to the 5 fact that combined with it are the children's exhibits, for which some 200 to 300 J entries have been received. ... <
