Capper (who is in the employ of Mr. Ralph) was burned out and had a narrow escape with his wife and family, and on Thursday last some mischievous individual passing by Mr. Ralph's property set' fire to a valuable flax swamp, destroying at least .£SO worth of green flax, besides rendering the swamp useless for sowing this season. A reward of £10 is offered for the conviction of the offending party. Settlers are seriously threatened by irresponsible individuals passing by on country roads setting fire to the dry scrub, which soon conveys the, flame to the boundary fences, swamps, -paddocks, etc.,,besides the danger to stock from the same source
