The Government does not intend to import more New South Wales coal for the railways. QUEENSLAND WHEAT CROP. (Received 8.55 a.m.) BRISBANE, this day. It is estimated that the wheat yield will be 1,370,171 bushels, a slight decrease from last year. BULLFINCH SURVEY FEES. (Received 9.55 a.m.) PERTH, this day. Survey fees amounting to £3500 sterling have already been paid in connection with the Bullfinch field. SHIP OFFICERS' WAGES. SYDNEY, November 14. In connection with the claims of the Merchant Service Guild the secretary of the guild stated that since giving evidence the late chief officer of the steamer Time had had his rating reduced and lost his ship. The secretary of the Steamship Owners' Association declared he was willing that evidence be taken, for lie had a thorough explanation of the ease. He also said the association was in favour of increments to masters, but not to officers, because they had not the same responsibility as the masters. The chief officer of the steamer Georgia, giving evidence as to the difference in the cost of living in Australia and England, said that as a general rule £1 would go as far in England as 30/ in Australia. N.S.W. MILITARY COLLEGE. SYDNEY, November 14. Arrangements have been made to start immediately with the erection of a military college and buildings at Duntroon, on the border of the Federal capital area.
