The funeral took place at Waikumete yesterday of the late Mr. Glenallan McLean, who died at Greymouth on Thursday as tie result of an accident at Otira. The remains were brought up to Auckland by Mr. Murdoch McLean (father of deceased) and Mr. Neil McLean by the Main Trunk train yesterday morning, and were taken to the residence <ri the deceased's parents, Mt. Albert, where the Rev. E. 0. Perry conducted a short service. In the course of a touching address, Mr. Perry spoke of Ids acquaintance -with the deceased from boyhood, and bore testimony to his sterling character and many estimable personal qualities. The funeral contege, which comprised upwarde of fifty carriages, left for Waikumete Cemetery at three o'clock. At the grav-eside a Masonic service was conducted by Mr. Oliver Nicholson, while members tf deoeased's lodge, Ara, acted as pall-bearers. Telegrams and letters of sympathy have been received by Mt. and Mrs. Murdoch McLean from all parts of the Dominion, including a meeeage of condolence from the Prime Minister, while floral tributes to the number of over 100 bore testimony to the esteem and .popularity won by deceased. Mr. S. I. Clarke, president of the New Zealand Builders' Federation, returned yesterday to Auckland from Wellington, where fae went to preside over the annual conference of the Federation last week.
