RAIN IN CANTERBURY.

<By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Nice rain fell in North Canterbury for several hours this morning. This will freshen up the pastures. There has been no rain of consequence in this district since the first week in September, and the outlook, especially on light lands, had become serious. The rain that has now fallen is sufficient to save the situation, but the weather continues dull with a promise of further showers.
