WRECKED IN A SNOWSTORM.
COOLNESS STOPS A PANIC. ~ -.} ' i(Received 9.35 a.m.) NEW YORK, November 13.. The wooden steamer Portland, belonging to the Alaska Coast Company, was etranded on an uncharted rock at Katalla Biver mouth during a snowstorm. The passengers rushed on deck in their night garments, but a panic was everted by the coolness of the captain and crew, and the passengers landed safely in the J»ats, no lives being lost. THIRTY-SEVEN MVES LOST. PARIS, November 12. 'X gale at Boulogne has resulted in eight fishing boats being wrecked. Thirtyjeren persons Tvere drowned.
