The North New Zealand Coursing Club's carnival was concluded at Middlemora Park, Otauuhu. on Saturday, when the final stauua) of the Thompson Maiden Stakes, Winter Cup, and the Islington Allaged Stakes were- decided. The attendance was good. Mr W. E. Hackett offlcinted as judge, and Mr G. Stevens as slipper, both gentlemen giving satisfaction. In addition to the above, a match for £30 was run off between Mrs Donaldson's Fearnought and Mr J. Hnyward's Cravenette. Fearnought led by three lengths, and took a couple of turns out of the hare, and wou the stake. THOMPSON'S MAIDEN STAKES of £37 10/, winner £25, runner-up £10, third dog £2 10/. First Ties. Beware beat Betterwood, What n Devil beat Miss Jig. Irish Lass beat Ned Corbett. Miss Monn beat Pukekohe after a nocourse, Dixie beat Nugget, Rawhlti and Accidental byes. Second Ties. Beware beat What a Devil, Irieh Lass beat Rawhlti, Dixie beat Miss Mona. Third Ties. Beware beat Irish Lass. Dixie a bye. Deciding Course. Mr K. Wright's bd and w d Beware, by Sandy—Lucerne, beat Messrs Sergeant and Fletcher's bd and w b Dixie by Slim Jim— Mocking Bird, after two undecided and one mistake. WINTER CUP of £14. Winner £12, run-ner-up £2 10/. First Ties. Ropata heat Germaline, Lion Heart beat Archduke. Deciding Course. Mr R. Martin's f and w d Lion Heart by Great Heart—Rise Up, beat Mr J. Coulson's bk and w d Ropata by Sandy.—Venus, and won the state. ISLINGTON ALL-AGED STAKES of £12 10/, winner £10, runner-up £2 10/. . First Ties. Flying Fox beat All Red, Lochna«-ar a bye. Deciding Coarse. Mr A. H. Whitehead's f d Flying Fox by Delegate—Wee Wee, beat Mr A. Julian's bk and w d Lochnagar, by Glenore Waireka, and won the stake.
