A man resembling Hawley Crippen, the Camdentown murderer, was seen on Sunday at Vernet-les-Bains. When the gendarmes arrived to arrest him he had already fled. The British Government has offered a reward of £250 for information as to the whereabouts of Crippen. A WOMAN SUFFOCATED. MXriUJEKEB. SENT TO TKIAL. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 20. A man named Wm. Broome has been committed for trial at Slough ou tho charge of murdering a neighbour, Mrs. Wilson, whom he suffocated. The newspapers are commenting on the extraordinary wave of crime. SHOT BY A BimGIAR. RAILWAY MAGNATE KILLED. (Received 8.50 a.m.) NEW TORK, July 20. A burglar entered the residence of Ira Rami, president of the ChicagoIndianapolis and Louisville railway. Mr. Rawn, hearing suspicious sounds, went to investigate, and was shot dead by the burglar. Vincenzo Nicari, a well-known Siciliau professor, was fatally stabbed in broad daylight in a crowded street in Palermo. The murderer escaped in the crowd. BANK ROBBER AESESTED. (Received 8.25 a.m.) NEW YORK, July 20. ! A man named Louis Mandelbaum has been arrested here on the charge of robbing Marcks' Bank, at Liege, of £16,000.
