A drive has also been put in in a southerly direction on the a distance of 12 feet, and two leaders have been met With. The manager expressjs his confidence that the golden belt of country will be met with at the junction with the sulphide lode New Sylvia.—ln the north face at tow level, No. 3 contract for 100 ft was completed on Monday, when an additional 100 ft Iras let, and since 'that date the contractors have advanced the face 19ft, with the reef varying in size, and not showing as much mineral ore, but still k-eeps np a fair assay value, and is traversing firstclass country. In the south, face, the third contract has been completed, making a total distance driven south from the nmin level 370 ft. The reef in this face bears an improved appearance, is the full width of the drive, and assays taken of the mineral portion show fair values. A start will ba made to -br-eafc out the ore for shipment this ■week. Waiotahi. — At No. G level, colours of gold are seen in the stopes on the footwali dropper. No. 2 crosscut is in 390 ft. Moewai. —A start has been made to take out ore for a trial crushing.
