MEETINGS.

H. iM. SMEETON, LTD. Last evening the staff of H. SI. Smeeton Ltd., were entertained at dinner by the managing director (Air H. M. Smeeton). The function took place at the Tiffin Rooms where the proprietor (Mr W. K. Crandell) ■had prepared a most excellent spread, and a very enjoyable evening w-as spent by all present.

The toast of "The King" having been duly honoured, ,Mr F. Crespin proposed the Orealth of the managing director and success to the firm.

In responding, Mr Smeeton said that he heartily welcomed these returning festivals, the occasions of .which enabled all to meet on a sociable footing and enjoy eacli other's company in a manner that was not possible in business. In the course of bis speech Mr 'Smeeton stated that lie intended the staff to participate in tie profits of the year as formerly, and, needless to say, the announcement was 'received -with acclamation. Mr Smeeton proceeded to indicate the enlargement of premises shortly to take tangible form, and relied upon the loyalty and cooperation of the stall while the alterations were in process.

Murray, Messrs T. Sehofield, H. C. Robinson and G. B. Boulton; song, "The Admiral's Broom," Mr T Turley; glee, "The Soldier's Farewell," Miss P Murray, Messrs T. Schofleld, H. C. Robinson and G. B.
