MEETINGS.
PROM THE LAND OF THE PHARAOHS,
To-morrow evening, at 8 o'clock, in the Hibernian Hall, Auckland, the Very Rev. D. J. O'Sullivan, late of Cairo, will lecture on his -Egyptian experiences, which extend over a period of 24 years. A magnificent succession of limelight views, thrown upon the screen by a powerful apparatus, will include the world-famed Pyramids, and all those sights and scenes of the Nile Valley which make Egypt the wonderland of the world. The views will be accompanied by the personal impressions of the lecturer. DEVONPORT ORPHANS' CLDB. The fortnightly meeting in connection with the Devonport Orphans' Club was held In the Masonic nail. Devouport. on Saturday night. There was a very large attendance of members, and Mr W. Swiunerton (vice-president) occupied the chair. A firstclass programme was presented and thoroughly appreciated, the following contributing items: -Messrs M. Atkin, Kocbfort, Ford, Rowbottom and Clegg (songs), B. Holton and Harrison (comic selections) and Dunne (flute solo). Selections were rendered by the club's orchestra. The club has become so popular and has grown so rapidly that it has been found necessary to close the membership roll for the present, owing to the club being unable to accommodate any more members In the present meeting room. BOY SCOUTS. The rarnell Pioneer Boy Scouts held their •third annual meeting on Friday evening at their club rooms. During the evening a presentation was made to their first aid Instructor, who has sacrificed much time in -teaching the scouts. Gre.it praise is due to Sconrniasrcr P.pnnrt and Assistant Scontmnstcr Hicks for the excellent work done by this troop during the past year.
