HTTNTLY. A meeting of the Rosebud Tent, No. 13, 1.0.0. Rechabites, was held In the Presbyterian Church. Bro. H. Kruger in the chair, tiro. Kruger was elected to represent Rosebud Tent at the District Council, to be held in Onehunga on August Oth. The Mowing officers were elected for the ensuing six months: —C.R.. Bro. T. J. Johnson; D.R., Bro. H. Hughes; secretary, Bro. H Kruger; Levite, Bro. T. C'ummack; Guard, Bro. Fred Gray; steward, Bro. D. Swaun; auditors, Bros. D. Swarm and F. Jones. The •C.R.-elect closed the lodge in the usual form. Tho annual meeting of the Huntly Presbyterian Church was held on Friday evening. Mr Ashton. home missionary, presided over a good attendance. Nominations were called for members of a new committee to act with the two members of the old committee, Mr Jas. Shnw aud Mr Rock. The following were declared elected: Messrs E. Calderivood, J. Dcvine, J. Kinson, A. luglls, W. Shaw, J. Stewurt, and J. Walker. A most attractive musical programme was rendered by Mrs Dyer, Mrs Raymond, Miss Jolly, Messrs J. Devine, Harris, T. Cummack, W. Shnw, J. Kinson, and E. Calderwood. Mr Ashton gave a recitation and Scotch reading. Miss Jolly accompanied on the organ. An abundant supply of refreshments were supplied by the ladies, who received a well deserved vote of thanks. Tho Huntly Literary aud Debating Society held its usual meeting on Friday evening. Mr T. Robinson, president, presided over a large attendance. The subject for the evening was a lecture by Mr H. Beck, on "Hilliquit" (the Great American Socialist Reformer). The lecturer treated his subject In a masterly manner, and was favourably commented on by several sneakers. CAMBSED GE.

CAMBRIDGE, Saturday. At a meeting of the general committee of the "Waikato Central Agricultural Association held this afternoon, the following were appointed to represent the Association at the conference of agricultural societies to be held in Auckland during tho Winter Show: Messrs. J. Fisher, F. Allen, and K. Reynolds. Arrangements were made' for keeping the Association's banking account with the Bant of New Zealand at Cambridge, and for au overdraft, If necessary. Mr. B. Veale was re-appointed secretary for the ensuing year at a salary of not less than £125. It has been arranged to hold a stock fair of gift" animals, to assist the funds of the Association, and Messrs J. Hooker, A. Fisher, and A- w. Gane were appointed a committee to canvass Cambridge for assistance in the matter. It was resolved to ask the Waikato Hunt Club to cooperate with the Association in erectinloose boxes on the show ground at Victoria Park. Some routine business was transacted, after which the meeting adjourned for a fortnight. A meeting of St..Andrew's vestry was held on Thursday, the Yen. Archdeacon "Willis presiding. The vicar reported that he was arranging for the Aiehidiaconal Conference to be held here ou August lti and 17. It was reported that the Yen Archdeacon Walsh and Mr. McDermott had matters well in hand for the rose show which would probably be held on November IS and 19. Messrs. C. Day, F. J. Brooks and R. C.
