THE HON. C. S. ROLLS,
The intrepid young Englishman, who was dashed to death while manoeuvring with his airship at the Bournemouth aviation meeting on Wednesday last. The pioneer of motoring, and an all-round sportsman in the highest sense of the word, Mr. Rolls had compressed into his short life enough enterprise and adventure to fill the existence of many a score of his fellow creatures. He was a fine example of the best of a class often unduly maligned. Highly bred, self-reliant and of the highest courage, danger was to him but a word, and fear a thing of which he knew nothing. His death has caused a thrill of sorrow — though scarcely of surprise—throughout the world, and sympathy will everywhere be with his relatives.
