MOISTURE IN BUTTER.
FALLING-OFF IN VICTORIA. ' ! (Received 8-55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. Members of the Federal Parliament representing the dairying ditricts of the Commonwealth interviewed Mr. Tudor, Minister of Trade, and protested against the proposed alteration in the moisture standard for butter and Government grading. Mr. Tudor, to show the necessity for action to maintain the reputation of Australian butter on the English market, i stated that of 476 samples of Victorian J butter taken during the 1908-9 season, 63 . j per cent contained under 14 per cent of .! moisture, while of 1136 samples taken j during the 1909-10 season, the percentage ' l had fallen to 47.
