DOMINION DAIRY SHOW.
HAWERA, Wednesday. Brilliant weather favoured the Dominion dairy show to-day. The produce and machinery halls make a splendid spectacle. Pihama (J. ODea, maker) got a first leg-in for the £50 challenge cup for cheesej scoring most points in both sections. The Xaranalri butter championship was won by Ngaere. The Hon. T. Mackenzie (Minister for Agriculture), who performed the opening ceremony, declared that lie had ■never seen a, finer show, although he ■had seen, numerically, greater' entries. The Minister had inspected the various departments, and: spoke with enthusiasm concerning their- quality, especially praising the school exhibits, which formed a surprisingly good feature, and illustrated what 'the district could produce apart from dairying. The, results of the single cheese competition (open to all factories) was: Kapqnga Dairy Company, 93£ points, Ist;. Dalefield, 93, 2nd; Featherston, 92i, 3rd. Taranaki championship (three white or coloured, cheese) : jSgaere, 934, Kapongb, 93; Lowgarth, 92J. Lane Challenge Cup (judged on two following classes) : Three cases white cheese (open class), Cardiff, 93; Hawera (Whareroa), 92 J, Kaponga, 92.
