KING COUNTRY ACCIDENTS.
'.' A BUSHMAN KlLl___*i (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) • TAUMARUNUI, this day. A ibushman named Robert Clark, a native of Gippsland, - Victoria, aged 26 years, was brought 25 miles up the river on Saturday. He was found ,by his mates , at" midday Friday, lying- .unconscious with his skull badly crushed, as if from a falling tree. The unfortunate man died an hour after his admission to the. hospital. An inquest is to be held. ; . . An inquest. on Clark was held to-day by Mr-A. J. Whittaker, acting-Coroner. A verdict of accidental death while bushfelling" >was (returned, no blame being attachable to anyone. A rider was added, "That the Government's attention be called to the urgent necessity for telephone communication to outlying places, as in the doctor's opinion life might have been saved in this instance if medical aid could have been procured." ' "At Ellis and Burnand's Manunui hush a half-caste named Jack Nathan, while driving dogs into a log, fell and ricked his back badly. He was brought in toj the doctor on a stretcher and is still in _ half-paralysed state. '
