1 A meeting o£ the Executive Council of the Auckland Chamber of -Commerce was, ' held at the rooms, Swanson-street, yesterday, Mr. J. H. GunsoD, preeident, in the ' chair. OVERSEA MAIDS. Letters were read from the New York Chamber of Commerce and the Oceanic S.S. Co., acknowledging receipt of coinmunica--1 tions from the Chamber in connection -with getting the San Francisco service resumed. The president said the Chamber was waiting for the result of the tenders for the alternative routes of the Vancouver service, in , one of which. Auckland was a port of call, due in November next.
