A CARPET OF ROSES.

NEGRO'S WELCOME HOME. NEW YORK, July 8. The public welcome to Johnson in Chicago was given, despite police prohibition. Bands were forbidden except at Johnson's home, where a- carpet of roses was laid from the kerb to the door. Washington, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles, and many other cities have forbidden cinematograph displays of the fight, and Maine, Georgia, Texas, Indiana, and Arkansas are likely to follow suit. At Washington Johnson will not be permitted to appear in the music halls.
