HOTEL TRAGEDY.
MELBOURNE, June 17. Mrs. Dean succumbed to-day to the injuries that were inflicted upon hor at the Sir Walter Scott Hotel a fortnight ago by the man Punks, who afterwards committed suicide. Mrs. Dean, a barmaid at the Sir Walter Scott Hotel, rushed downstairs wounded in the throat, a man named Punks, similarly wounded, closely following her. Punks succumbed in the hospital. Mrs. Dean said she was a native of Westport, separated from her husband. She stated that Punks cut her throat and then his own.
