THE DEADLY PEA RIFLE.
(Bv; Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. A lad named Zimmerman, 14 years, residing with his parents at Rukuhia, was accidentally shot with a pea rifle by his brother last evening. The lads were playing together when the rifle went off, the bullet entering the lower portion of the stomach, perforating the intestines and lodging in the muscles of the back. The lad was taken to the Waikato hospital, where his injuries were attended to, and he is progressing satisfactorily, although it has not yet been possible to extract the bullet.
