At Launceston a meeting of citizens decided to erect a statue of the late King Edward. The 12,000 colliers who have been on strike at Seranton have resolved to resume work. The Surrey.C.C. lias dispensed with the services of Alan Marshall, the exQueenslander. A great reception was recorded by the Austral Club to Sir George and Lady Reid yesterday. General rains have fallen in the Westralian agricultural areas, and there is every prospect of a good season.
