society 01 —.rpenters ana joiners, neiaj last night, the subject of La.bour's loyal- j ty to the Throne was discussed at con-1 siderable length, and the following resolution was carried almost unanimously: I "That this Union upholds the action of the president of the Trades and Labour Council in sending the telegram of condolence to the Premier at the death of the late King." The Operative Plasterers' Union met on Monday night, and unanimously passed the following motion: "That this Union, not being affiliated to the Trades! and Labour Council, does not agree with the resolution of censure passed on Mr. Rosser for expressing the sympathy of the workers at the death of our late King, and this Union expresses its deep sympathy in the great loss the nation lias sustained by the death of King Edward."

At the monthly meeting of the Auckland Farriers and General Blacksmiths' Union, a resolution was unanimously carried, expressing sympathy with the president of the Trades and Labour Council (Mr. A. Puosser) in his treatment by the Council for wiring to the Premier a message of condolence on the death of the King. The president of the Union (Mr. L. Hotehin) was instructed tf> forward the decision of the Farriers' Union to the Prese for publication.
