Mr. Hedley, president of the Linnean Society, in a paper read before the Society, reported the discovery of a mountain peak 960 fathoms below the surface of the ocean 46 miles straight'out from 1 Bondi. The indications are that it is an 3 estinct volcano of great height, which ' las gradually sunk. The discovery was made by tracing the volcanic dykes j marked on the admiralty chart.
