A tragic incident occurred. last nighfc' . in the Theatre Royal, where the Marlow;. Dramatic Company gave, the first pern fonnance of their Christchurch season. Among the audience in the gallery were Mrs. Augusta Elizabeth Stock, wif6' of Mr D: C- Stock,, of As'&.burtoo, her daugi.- ; ter-in-law r and another . lady . friend/ About .10:40 p.m. Mrs, Stock suddenly; collapsedj. falling: on her daughter-mr ■ law's shoulder. It was thought at first that she had merely fainted, and she was ',' ccnyeyed from the gallery to an office > in the building;, Medical aid was summoned, but when the. doctor arrived he could only state that life was extinct Deceased was fifty-five "years of age. She had been in ill-health for some time, and -had 1 been attended by a medical man ia Ashburton.'
