RAILWAY EXPENDITURE
THE NORTH ISLAND LEAGUE.

HASTINGS, this day.
At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce letters were received from most of the Chambers of the North Island promising hearty co-operation in the movement to establish a North Island Railway League. It was resolved that a,H North Island Chambers be inviied to send delegates to attend a Conference to be held at Palmerston during Winter Show week to form a league for securing equitable treatment for the North Island in the matter of railway construction and expenditure.
