I At the annual meeting in cohheetion with the &_wrvers_ry of the Pitt Street Mothodist Church, presided over by Mr. W. J. H-deworth, the secretary reported that the past year had been most s_cc__fi_. The number of scholars on the roll was shown to be 275, exclusive of 99 nanles on the infant or cradle roll The teaching staff, apar t from ai—dliaties, numbered 32. The attendance of middle boys, Who had prevk>_&y been co_spic_Ous by their absence, -was a special source "of satisfaction. During the absence of the super-mtend-at (Mr. <_. Wmstone) the duties would' be carried out by Mr. S. J. Am■bury. Three „_ji_bers of the t__ch-nj staff during the year had been granted English diplomas for long service, -attrely, Messrs. T. M__f_ster, 44 years.; Geo. Winstone, 43 years; and S. J. Ambury 33 years-. It was suggested in the jfC port that, with the completion of the Grafton bridge, ah effort should be made to revive the united gathering and procession previously held in connection wi—i the New Year festivals. __c Rev. Mr. Ready delivered an address nn the import—nee Of S__d_y School work, and laid partic-lar stfOss on the need of Stcnday School teaohers giving efficient Bible instroetion, in view of the opposition to the totrod—etion of Bible-reading in __. State schools.
