PREHISTORIC MAN.
MR. WRAGGE'S THEORY CONFUTED. (By- Telegraph,—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHUECH, this day. Further .critical __am—_tion of Mr. Wragge's __aurioh photographs by a powerful leas reveals most decidedly marks of a chisel in the triangle, and aimost another triangie about one fooiJ from the first with the apex inverted, clearly showing it impossible to be the work of Nature only.
Mr. Wragge says: X I am .now doubly, convinced that the discovery is proof of the work of man.. A . rude quartz chisel -was'probably the implement used. The huge discs and pillars at the other place by the coast, which face the northward, are confirmatory of sun and phallic worship by a race having a physical struct—re much more '■ powerful than man of this day. Manipulation in prehistoric times is empha-i—dly —aimed, and these last probably, date back som6 twelve thousand years, and the whole history is probably en—'raced by five hundred thousand yea-is."
