TRIAL OF DR. HYDE.
POISON TO KIEL DOGS. SUPPLIES OF TYPHOID GERMS. NEW YORK, April 28. The trial of Dr. Bennett Clarke Hyde, on the charge of having poisoned Colonel Swope, a millionaire philanthropist, was continued to-day at Kansas City. A druggist named Brecklin and his three assistants produced hooks, and testified that Hyde bad bought capsules of cyanide of potassium in September and December. Brecklin said he had once telephoned and asked Hyde to verify the order, and Hyde replied that he wanted the poison to kill dogs. Dr. Stewart, a bacteriologist, testified that he had supplied Hyde with cultures of typhoid germs in November and December. After this evidence Hyde was removed to custody, the Court refusing to allow him further bail.
