NAPIER LOAN.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIERJ Thursday. There is a discussion in the town as to whether the majority of the Napier Borough Council din tha right thing in declining the offer of the State-guaranteed Advances Board to grant part of the borough loan. The ——yor (Mr. J: Vigor Brown, MP.) is strongly of opinion that a mistake has been made. He alsd states that although the town clerk "has written to the Bank of New Zealand accepting their offer for tbe whole of the loan, tbe Council does -not really know what t_e bank's offer" is. He has instructed the town clerk to ask. tbe bank what are exact terms upon which it will float the loan, and also to reqnest the bank to delay doing anything in connection with •the.floating; of the loan in the meantime.
