GOVERNOR'S FAREWELL TOUR

'- (By Telegraph.—Press __a»ociatio_,) , ' WELLINGTON, Monday;The Governor (Lord ■ Plunlcet) planned an extensive travel programme for the last few weeks of his stay in NewZealand. He leaves to-morrow evening for the South, accompanied by the Hon. D. Buddo, and will spend three weeks in South Canterbury, Otago, and Southland, returning to Wellington on April 9. The Southern programme includes a visit to Rakaia on March 23, motoring thence to Mount Somers, arid then taking train to Ashburton. On March 24 his Excellency will travel via Temuka to lima—i, _ the 25th visit Fairlie, on the 26th and 27th Waimate, - 2Sth _urow and Oamaru, 29th Ngapara and Elderslie, 30th Waireka, Palmerston South, and Port Chalmers (where the new dry dock willn— inspected), 31st Dunedin, April 1 Mosgiel, Balelutha, Catlins River, and Clinton, 2nd Edendale, Glenham, Waimaka, 3rd Bluff, 4th Invercargill, sth Riverdale, Swi tiers, Waikaka, . Gore, Tapanui, Mataura, and Dunedin. His Excellency will- leave Dunedin on the Bth prox. for Wellington. Probably he will spend 10 days in fishing at Tokaanu, and will follow, this with a visit tc Taup'o and Rotorua, 'reaching the latter town on May 6. Tauranga will be visited on May 7, and Katikati and Waihi on the 9th. Hamilton will be reached on May 10, and the Governor will return to Wellington in time for a Masonic function next evening. Probably Lord Plunket will then tour the West Coast of the North Island, stopping at the principal towns between Wellington arid New Plymouth, ■ arid going on to Auckland for a few days, upon the occasion of his last official visit. Late he will pay farewell visits to Christchurch, Dunedin, and Wellington, and will sail from Auckland for Australia early in June.

Lord Plunket intends to spend a holiday of 18 days in Australia before tal_n« steamer for England. &
