CHINESE BURGLAR SHOT DEAD
PORT DARWIN", March 21. A Chinese burglar entered the room of Diver Highes at the Chib Hotel. Hughes attempted capture the intruder,, and, using a knife, inflicted a slight wound. The Chinaman escaped, but a constable saw him running, and fired three shots. The ; dead body of the Chinaman/was found at daylight in the bush, two of the i shots having taken 'effect j ~ • ■ .
